In-Home Palliative Care Services
Services for both the terminally ill and for their families include:
- Companionship
- Respite Care
- Advocacy
- Emotional Support
- Spiritual Counselling
These visitation services are available to persons in their home, in our local Long Term Care Homes and in our local hospital.
Bereavement Services
Services include:
- Individual Counselling
- Child and youth bereavement programs
- Social recovery groups
Support Groups
Led by trained facilitators:
- Caregiver Support Groups are for people who are caring for others facing a terminal illness. The group provides a safe place to share difficulties, joy and pain, to give and receive encouragement and to celebrate victories.
- Grief Support Groups are offered as needed. These groups meet once a week for eight weeks.
Resource Library
A lending library of resource books, audio tapes, video tapes, pamphlets and articles covering the many aspects of living with the dying, death, grief and recovery are available with no fee. Anyone is welcome to come by the Hospice Prince Edward office to borrow any of these materials. This library is continually expanding.
Public Education
Hospice Prince Edward provides speakers for your organization on topics related to living with the dying, death, grief and recovery. Please contact our office for more information.
